TAKE AN IMMERSIVE JOURNEY INTO NYACK USING YOUR SMARTPHONE
Digital Dreaming: Augmented Reality Village Walking Tour, is an audio walking tour with 7 Nyack Village landmark destinations to visit, for example the Cynthia Hesdra and Toni Morrison Parkbench in Memorial Park. Explore picturesque downtown Nyack and the banks of the majestic Hudson River, its rich landscape and history, through family-friendly, audio-adventures and augmented reality (a technology that superimposes a computer-generated image on a user's view of the real world, thus providing a composite view).
To enjoy the experience you will need your personal smartphone connected to headphones. The experience incorporates visual elements that you will see through the screen camera on your phone. These visual elements are called "Augmented Reality", because looking at them through your phone camera will augment the reality of your surroundings.
Digital Dreaming is created in homage to Australian First Nations peoples belief of walking the earth alongside their spiritual understanding of The Dreaming. We hope you feel united with the earth of Nyack through your digital phones, alongside connecting with custodians of the land and whatever Dreaming might mean to you.
